Tutors

There are three types of tutors within the SecondSchool system

  1. The SecondSchool Registered Tutor
  2. The SecondSchool Qualified Tutor
  3. The SecondSchool Certified Tutor

A SecondSchool Registered Tutor

Anyone can be a registered tutor at SecondSchool.  All you need to do is to give us your details in the form provided and you will be registered.

There are no fees for registration.

A registered tutor forms part of our database.  We call on registered tutors when our partners have a tutor requirement.  However, to provide tuitions for any SecondSchool class you have to be a Certified Tutor.

A SecondSchool Qualified Tutor

To be a qualified tutor with SecondSchool, you will need to undergo assessment of your communication and subject knowledge.  The assessment for communication capability will be done on phone and the subject knowledge certification can be done at any nearby SecondSchool centre.

Subject certification is based both on Subject and Class.  SecondSchool provides certification between Classes IV to X.

There is a fee of Rs. 500 for appearing for the qualification exam.  This will be refunded if you do not qualify.  If you want to appear multiple times, the fee will not be refunded from the second time onwards.

A qualified tutor receives a Certificate from SecondSchool.  Each Certificate has a number.  Any interested party – such as parents and anyone interested in employing you can check the authenticity of the number directly from the SecondSchool website.

A qualified tutor receives a priority over registered tutors for selection for certification.  Since not all tutors receive the SecondSchool certificate, parents do prefer a qualified tutor from SecondSchool to someone not qualified.

A SecondSchool Certified Tutor

Only qualified tutors are entitled to be certified.  To be certified you must have access to a computer with audio and a webcam.  You must also be able to access the internet to download and upload files.

If you would like to be certified, you must put in an application.  We will let you know the centre to which you will be assigned should you be certified.  We will continue based on mutual agreement.

Certification has three stages

  • View the content.  You will need to see and understand the video content downloaded from our site
  • Record your responses.  Once you have viewed the content, there will be a series of questions to answer.  The answers will be recorded using a webcam and sent to us for evaluation
  • Undergo a detailed training program if required.  This program will be held over one week and will be held periodically
  • Telephonic interview.  We will have a telephonic interview and complete the process.

A sum of Rs 5,000 must be deposited prior to appearing for certification.  This sum is returnable if you do not clear the certification.

All Certified tutors are guaranteed to be offered a minimum income of Rs 50,000 per year.  If that does not happen, the proportional amount of the Rs, 5000 paid is refundable.

Certified tutors are provided the certificate given below
